bit of brazing, soldering and chemical weld, 6 hours labour and some paint..............final total spend £17 lol, its great when u DIY it

we got it going a couple of weekends ago one late night, cheers to all that helped :thumb

Looks good mate. Wait till you chip all that paint off in some god forsaken crawl, you'll be well happy.

Anyway, the lamp worked a treat, it was still going in the morning.

Very nice mate, Love the candy red!

Mine finally arrived today, Its the same lamp as yours just doesn't have the shade. It has the light thing with a glass lens, which is removable so I can use it to light where I point it or to light an area say in a small room without the light thing (not sure what to call it). Its made originally for use in the railways and is date stamped 1945.

Im just going to try and polish up the casing and see how it turns out.

You can polish them up using a non scratch scourer. If youre keeping a bare metal finish, they get dirty really quickly, so no point doing more than that.

Tommo, dont chuck out the old beak, I'll have it.

sorry sir but i have to disagree.......

do you not think the handle position will help as a good hand warmer...???

and the size of the flame will be very safe on rope ladders........!!!!!!
