This was a really quick explore on my own one evening a few weeks ago, my pics are a bit naff because it was in the dark with a nearly dead torch and no tripod but I thought I'd put it out there in case anyone fancies going and doing a better job. The place is pretty trashed tbh, definitely not everyone's cuppa tea but there's a few bits and bobs lying around worth looking through if you like being a nosey parker like me, in particular lots of surveillance equipment and tapes bizarrely and various bits of brewery documentation and paraphernalia. It's also just along from millennium mills too so quite handy for anyone needing a backup plan that doesn't make it all the way inside there. I couldn't find much history on the place sorry although I believe the Carlsberg/Tetley brewery itself was once situated next door and got demolished in 2008. The most recent documents I found in this building dated back to 2001 so I presume that's when it was abandoned. Some nice views towards the O2 and of the cable cars crossing the Thames although I didn't have time to capture them properly on this trip, also not sure if there is a way out onto the roof or not so I might make a revisit with a bit more time on my hands and perhaps in daylight next time.

Nice!

Working just down the road from here and, being a noob, had been considering Millenium Mills but this looks far more interesting!

One for the list!

Nice ones as usual matey :)

And certainly a more photogenic location than what"s surrounding the one left in leeds.

I don"t know how you find the time for all the exploring ? i think if you ever need a new job a London Urbex Tour guide would "Suit you Sir " although i"m not sure it"d pay well :) but i"ll book my reservation.

And still no selfie ??

My advice is without question do Millennium Mills before this, there is no contest whatsoever....

Theres one of these in Leeds too. Not the brewery thats gone now but a distribution centre
yeah that kept popping up while I was doing my (completely fruitless) research

think we were all too fucked to do anything else that day!

Wow love the place great pictures what was the vhs tape?
Thanks mate, I wish I could say it was an On the Buses special but sadly it was just one of hundreds of surveillance tapes left behind ;)

there probably will be such a thing in the not too distant future....sign this disclaimer, give me 50 quid, and follow me over this fence...

i know this is a old thread but omg....i worked there from 1998-2002 and you took a picture of one of my stock taking sheets :-) the building you took pictures was closed due to asbestos and was out of bounds while i was working there and it all moved in 2003

Hey - this building is back up and running now with studios, a bar and all sorts. Love these old snaps, if anyone else has anything - or good stories about the place. There were raves here I'm keen to find photo evidence of! If anyone would like a tour of the building you can email us through The Silver Building website. @thesilverbuilding on Insta too.
