The Casbah closed down a few months ago, and I don't know how good a derp it will be as it was just a sweaty rock club but just thought I'd bring it up anyway because I havent seen any pics yet!

I used to work with someone who worked at the Grosvenor Hotel (which joins onto Casbah as part of the Moor buildings), and he said that he didn't think the Casbah had any entrance to the hotel, but he just worked on the bar so he could be wrong...

No great loss to the nightlife of Sheffield.

The Grosvenor carpark access could be reached from the top floor of the casbah, there was a fire exit. Also there was another bit behind the basement bar which had a lift to street level. Had a look but it was all locked down tight.

Haha we used to like Casbah now and then, about 1AM absolutely battered anyway.. DJ Lez used to play shitloads of Motley Crue, Hanoi Rocks, New York Dolls etc... :p full of smelly grebby goffs though sometimes..

Ah crap, good effort for trying though!

Gutted The Casbah has closed - Sheffield Forum

The casbah is closed down and there is a load of stuff still left within there. the owner has taken all he could with him when the club got repossessed. all pumps are still in and a few other things wich was left behind. I know you can get in the Grosvenor hotel frew casbah theres a little steel door big inuf for someone to get through that links to the hotel. its situated in the back downstairs. :)

Haha I remember Club WOW. We used to get the free bus there from Donny when I was about 16. I think it's a laserquest or something like that now.

For an urbex virgin near Sheffield a good start would be the ski village, just get out there and explore. Go to sites with obvious easy access then progress from there :-)

What the fuck are you on about? They're all "solo visit stuff".
Just get out there. You don't need someone to hold your hand. ffs.

Re: Centertainment, it's a laserquest, crazy golf and Monkey Bizness! up there now - great big kids soft play, it's ace!

sorry but i dont agree with the first part of this, There is some need to go with someone else.
The kind of places we visit are often used by druggies, homeless etc and there are some safety issues. I choose not to go alone to a lot of places through fear of being attacked, robbed, etc.
I dont really fancy being stabbed, shot, murdered or robbed for a hobby........ this may make me sound as tho i need to man up in your eyes but i value my life and photography equipment more than my 'street cred'. If you want to risk all the above just to make you feel manly and have street cred then crack on...... i know which option i prefer and no doubt many of the people on here will agree with my views.

btw.... just because i have no reports on here and am quite new to the scene dosn't mean i havnt done any exploring :-)
