Having an interest in railways, I decided to walk a cycle path from Allerton Bywater to Garforth.
Was a nice spring day so was in no rush.
Walking along Lock Lane in Castleford up to Allerton, on walking over the canal bridge I saw Castleford Viaduct (The Iron Bridge to locals), so thought I would go up there and walk along (if I could), the old track bed up to Allerton, joining the cycle path there.
The viduct is now a well rusting old girl...but for me that only enhances her beauty....and it is hard to believe that it was only 10-15 years ago that trains still ran over this old girl....as to say it is on the 'thin' side is an understatement

This was a very enjoyable, and a very easy explore for any beginner...and I am now looking for other railways explores near by.
