Yes, it's a real shame.
There are at least half a dozen derelict railway tunnels in Leicestershire that are still accessible

I may have to do a bit of snooping then. Only ever really go in my 'local' ones at Kelmarsh and Great Oxedeon. Would be nice to visit some longer ones

Done both, but Oxendon closed tunnel is a personal favourite.
Ingarsby, Morcott, Clawson & East Norton are worth a mooch (I've got reports on them here)

Yeah I'm a big fan of the closed tunnel, especially with it being on a curve. Although each time I go in it looks a bit more precarious!
