CEBS was established in 1904, before then, it went by the name of Kennington Secondary School for Girls, and was primarily a christian school until more recent times, with Charles Edward Brooke being the second vicar of St. John the Divine, Kennington - who also founded the St. Gabriels Teacher Training College for Women, which is where the school's current name comes from.
From what I can find, the old building closed in 2013, and with a new facility under construction, St. Gabriel's college is currently in a temporary building right next door to this one.

After initially failing a couple of places, we decided to trek to the other side of London to see how this looked. We expected a lot more from it, but we weren't too disappointed. It looks like the building was once invaded by squatters - who seem to go by the name of 'Fag Mob'.. (It was tagged around all over the place) There were makeshift bedrooms everywhere, and odd little congregation areas that they had set up throughout the building, so naturally the place was fairly messy and plenty of stuff had been nicked.
Overall, it wasn't too bad for a poke around and a few photos, and still had a fair bit of original charm to the bare bones of the place.

After a quick play on the keyboards, it was time to leave. I enjoyed this place quite a bit actually. There was one building we didn't get into which looked like it was full of gym equipment, it'd be interesting to see if anyone cracks it.

Cheers :thumb

Went here today with Damo and it was great! Place is a lot more extensive that it looks in photos, and has that Enid Blyton vibe throughout much of it. Would recommend
