Chatterley Whitfield - Stoke - January 2012
Visited with NickUK, Tweek And Fishbrain
I visited here back in the summer, you can see my report here... Linkage
It was good to see that not much has changed, the site is naturally never going to recover, it would take too much for it to be restored into a museum and some of it is in a certainly perilous state.
I'd been keen to get back after not completing a few bit's last time, especially the bath house. We managed 3 out of 4 headstocks, which was great, but also the bath house, which was simply fantastic. We also found a giant miner's helmet, which provided additional laughs until we heard somebody outside shout 'Hello', which shut us up for a while...
Bath House...
Unfortunately, whilst heading for the 4th headstock, the police drove at us, which put an end to the day; by this point it was going dark anyway so it wasn't too much of a bother and made getting out a lot easier, I'll be back...
Cheers
