Cherry Tree Hospital - Stockport
After arranging an early start with Tom Sherman to hit some mills, this place was not
on the radar whatsoever, but after pratting about fixing a fuel pump on the motor,
I was running late, so decided to head to Stockport to meet up with Tom, noodlethesis
& 3 other chaps for a quick wander, and popped back later on my own
This place originally dates back to 1880, originally known as Stockport Infectious diseases
Hospital up until 1948 when it changed name to Cherry Tree hospital.
Although the majority of the site is due for demolition within the next few months, the grade
2 listed main building is set to stay, and will sit alongside the more modern, and still active
Devonshire rehabilitation unit.
According to one of the groundworkers, the metal Fairies have stripped the buildings of any
real value, and had been regular daytime visitors up until last week, when the police decided
to throw them into the back of a nice white transit van
The Inside of the buildings are really trashed, and already well documented, so I decided to
focus a little more on the externals, with the odd internal thrown in for good measure.
Looking towards the far end of the site and the main hospital block
The old nursery block, someone with a rather sick sense of humour built this nursery on
the site of the old morgue..the slab is rumoured to be under the floorboards
If secca turn up this is my getaway vehicle of choice

Back outside for a quick wander around the outbuildings, all well locked up
