As I browsed the Industrial section the other day I saw a report from @HughieD had popped up so I thought I'd have a little trip down memory lane and put a report together for you lovely people!

Its probably true to say that we only went here because we drew a blank at Mansfield General (the second of two fails there - the furthest I got was sitting on top of the body fridges). Anyway I'm so glad we had a Plan B. Shortly after this visit I believe a kid got badly injured here and since then its pretty much been sealed tight as a drum.

Over recent years there has been a deep division of opinions on the future of Clipstone headstocks. On one hand some see it as an ugly eyesore that serves no purpose and should be ripped down. On the other hand, others see the Grade II listed structure as a fundamental part of our industrial heritage and its historic and architectural value should be preserved.

For more information I'd recommend having a look at this link, it's an interesting read.

On with the photos then, I've taken the liberty of dividing into 2 sections and just an advance warning - at that time I was going through a phase of being a bit trigger-happy with the fisheye lens!

Smashing stuff, always wondered if anyone had been in here. Loving the close ups, and, everything else for that matter.

Although I am wondering, wtf is an Electric Suicide Check Timer?

Very nice back cat. Industrial goodness a plenty. Liking the 2 sections. Details are good to see to. Nothing not to like here :thumb

Back in the day pre 2013 it was a pretty often trodden location, although ironically unlike @jones-y-gog I succeeded at Mansfield and failed here as the palisade etc had recently been welded back together!
