As a total newbie to this, I obviously wanted to find someone experienced to start with. Lucky for me, I found @Buffalo and @plod who kindly let me tag along (thanks again guys)! Also brought one of my friends who isn't a member, I think we all had fun.

After failing to enter the main building, we decided to look around to find this ward and gave it a go - definitely worth it.

The History
Cookridge Hospital is located near Horsforth and Cookridge. Back in the day, it specialised in the treatment of cancer, now it is used as an attraction for some who dare to go in. The main building is listed as a Grade II building along with the lodge.

Back in 1886, John North and his wife gifted £6000 to open a convalescent home on the site. This was in memory of his daughter, Ida. The ward opened on 10th May 1888 and was in use for a long time - the whole hospital site closed in 2008. The architects that designed this ward were Chorley and Connon.

Another hospital site was later built, mostly referred to as 'Cookridge', after it was funded by Robert Arthington. The second site opened in May 1905. Unfortunately, the sites haven't been in use and are still awaiting demolition since 2008.

I wish I had a better camera, but for now my phone was enough to take some nice pictures.

How old do you think this is?

One of the many decorations at the hospital

Satanic ritual... done with red paint...?

Whoever was there before us, they must have had fun

Seriously though, why do you have to graffiti everything?

The window bleeding with rust

Uhh... Pretty sure they don't work here anymore, whoever they were

And up the stairs...

...to see a little graveyard

And at last, a lonely stool

Thanks for looking (and to @Buffalo and @plod for being so kind to actually let me tag along!)

Very good first report mate!!! Cant believe that big mac carton is still there haha :)

Thanks :D I'm actually not sure if it's from a more recent time, we found other stuff like a bottle of pepsi so I think it was left there much later than when it was closed. Probably someone found the hospital some time back and just chilled there with friends littering the whole place

Edit: Just found out that this was the box for a Big Mac back in 2008, they changed it after.

That's some impressive investigation skills haha.. It was there around 18 months ago when I was there anyway :)
