Just came across a thread on your forum regarding Cranes Garages Norwich. Can't find it now though.
To add to the discussion I was the Esso representaive for the site way back in 1973. Before most of you were born.
The garage was an Esso company owned site under the management of Roy Chadwick who lived in Cromer. I worked with Roy and Geoffrey on site development over a couple of years. In fact I offered them another site in Norfolk which they took up on a lease basis.
The other thing that I remember was that in the showroom was a full size model of Lady Penelope's car from the puppet series. I can't remember the name. There was no car franchise at that time. In fact the showroom was so small you could only get a couple of cars in it.
Hope I filled in a couple of blanks.
