Crich Quarry was a limestone quarry the began in the early 1800s and officially closed around 2010

We had a short trip back in 2016 and although the machinery has been heavily vandalized in more recent years the Quarry is still very interesting and worth a visit.

For more in depth history: ZerO81 has an excellent post

As a side not the fire in the background was from some workers on sight clearing something, they didn't seem to care at all about us being there.

 cool site. Sharp shots. What are the puffs of steam or smoke?
haha not us, there where some workmen there doing some sort of burning of something didn't care about us there however

Is it still there?? There building houses near it so it might be demolished if it hasn't already
I hope so it is a really good explore however there where some guys doing some work there and its close to some other sites that could use the extra space

Careful around theire it’s where rolls Royce dumped theire toxic waste from nuclear subs. You guys should invest in a Geiger counter. Why do you think it’s so abandoned even though the tram museum is next door.
