This was my 2nd visit to the court at Sheffield, (1st been January 2013)
I always knew a return visit was inevitable.
But lack of earlier transport was preventing this,
so the only option was to spend the night there this was worth it as the building was fascinating.
met two fellow explorers while there,
was very good to meet them both.
Here is my report on this grand building
The building was built 1807-1808 by Charles Watson,
opened in 1808 with extensions in 1833 and 1866 by William Flockton/Abbott as council dwellings.
Became a crown court in 1897 and a high court in 1992,
closed in 1997.
The building is in average condition, considering its been empty for 16 yrs
and is on the buildings at risk register.
