I went with HorZa to this one who fired up a report a couple of weeks ago which had some of the shots i've tried to avoid so there aren't duplicate pictures. There are actually two castles here which are in relatively close proximity with the oldest castle being built in 1679 and was replaced between 1789-92 by the 'new' Dalquharran castle. The newer castle was enlarged in 1881 with the addition of two side wings. There was evidence of the place having security with many fences and blocked off entrances to several of the buildings but no sign of any guards on site.

Both have been lying in ruin for many years with the newer castle being earmarked to be upgraded into a golfing and leisure complex. One of the designs for the golf complex can be viewed here. Although it seems as though it has been quiet regarding news of development of the place recently.

The pics are stills from a video I shot which can be viewed here:

Here is the front of the newer castle.

View from the stairs.

Now to the inside and a view down in the basement hallway.

One of the many old fireplaces.

Stairs from the inside.

A strange wheel lying inside on the floor.

The weather was nice so it was mandatory to get the old sun saltire.

Silhouette from the top of the building.

Stable Door with a missing window balancing on a pillar.

Now onto the older castle, this tends to be overlooked as it's more ruined than the newer one but still some nice views to be had.

The final picture being of the current inhabitants the birds.
