Dalton Mills - Keighley - October 2010

Once I seen this place pop up, it had to be done. The workshop in this place is fantastic, as hopefully the pictures will show. The rest of the mill has a true and unique character and a real mill 'smell'. Getting in wasn't as planned, and resulted in the deployment of the first aid kit, but after that, happy days. Props to Speed for the info, turned out to be a little trickier than expected.
There isn't a great deal of history around but....
Dalton Mills is a nineteenth century textile mill with more than 200,000 sq ft of space, on Dalton Lane close to Keighley railway station. The Clock Tower in the mill has already been transformed into 20,000 sq ft of high quality office space.
Dalton Mills has been the backdrop for BBC period drama North and South, Bollywood films and, most recently, the BBC show Sunday Life has been broadcast each week from the Clock Tower.
