Deli Blanca Cafe - Harrogate, North Yorkshire - Dec 2019

HISTORY:
On Friday 21st June 2019, at 9am in the morning, a huge fire ripped through a vacant shop building on Station Parade in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, totally destroying the unit and causing damage to nearby outlets. The unit was to be Deli Blanca, a cafe set to be opened just one week later. Roads were closed as well as Harrogate Bus Station, causing widespread disruption as firefighters from the North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service brought the blaze under control.
Speaking to the Harrogate Advertiser regarding their investigation, a spokesperson for NYFRS said their findings had shown that the blaze on Station Parade was accidental, and they believe it may have been caused by an electrical fault.

EXPLORE:
This was an extremely dangerous explore in terms of being seen. Situated directly in the centre of Harrogate - opposite the bus station and the train station. CCTV everywhere, members of the public everywhere. How I got away with this I do not know. Access was fairly easy. As you'd expect, the internal situation of this building is dire. Access to the upper floors has been almost completely burned away. However, the cellar downstairs was pretty interesting. I found it eerily ironic that the fire alarms had survived but almost everything around them hadn't.

Looks like an old building, shame. But it was better to break out a week before opening rather than with punters in there.

Even charred buildings we gotta take a look.
