The Death of Hallam tower.

The history has been done to death. My mission here was to document the gradual demolition of the place:

1. Before demo

Big yellow machine in picture 8. Basically a long boom arm with a pecker/grabber and a water cannon to suppress the dust.

No great loss, not the prettiest of buildings! Some Great photos of it’s downfall though.

Really interesting photographs, it's like slicing open an iced cake seeing all the colours of the graffiti on the inside that are hidden from the outside.

Thanks for taking the photos of the demo Hughie, I was operating the high reach. I’ve been trying to find photos on the net and stumbled across this site. Was an interesting job, you should have come to the gate, we would have let you on site to get closer photos.

The machine was a Cat 385 high reach with a 42m arm and a concrete pulveriser as the attachment

Thanks for taking the photos of the demo Hughie, I was operating the high reach. I’ve been trying to find photos on the net and stumbled across this site. Was an interesting job, you should have come to the gate, we would have let you on site to get closer photos.

To much dust and debris flying for the local area and I had to keep the ground floor intact for planning reasons, so not a feasible option.
