Hi, Sorry it's taken a while I've had computer problems (Bloody Vista!
)
After I visited and photographed the Derby Hippodrome I was amazed at the damage that had been caused to the theatre after it had only been closed for 12 months, also lots of the damage looked very suspicious. so after a bit of thinking time I called the local paper to give them the heads up on the damage. The Grade II listed Hippodrome has been a hot topic for a while as the current owner bought it to demolish and redevelop the land. I was a bit unsure about contacting the paper as I was expecting loads of questions as to who I was, why was inside taking pictures, etc, etc... But they were actually OK! The respected my anonymity and wouldn't print my name. I gave the pictures in the hope that it would help save the building from further damage, however the owner brought in a grab arm and bulldozer to 'fix' the flat roof! :crazy and made a right mess of the place.
Looks like it might be the end of the theatre now, but I hope the owner gets fined heavily for his actions.
