Evening all,

My First Post.

This is Derby Friargate Station (and a bit of the Midland Railway Warehouse). The railway was opened in 1878 by Great Northern as the Derbyshire and Staffordshire Extension Line and skirted around the northern end of the city. It was closed down in 1965 by British Railways, who requisitioned the closed like as their Mickleover Testtrack which ran until the privatisation of the 1990s. A great deal of civil engineering remains throughout Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire.

The nearby Great Northern Railway Goods Wharf still remains insitu, with Grade II listed building status but plans for reuse seldom exist.

The Goods Wharf, Front Door, cobbles still exist.

Rail lines would have run from right to left, of which two would have run into the wharf building itself.
