1. The History
Already done a pretty extensive history for my previous report which you can find HERE

2. The Explore
Third time here at this amazing place. First time did the big sights i.e. up the miner’s track to the Australia level mill. Second time, with family, did the mid-level tourist trail. This time went up the north-western Garret side. Managed to get most of the way up, but sadly didn’t have time to do the up, over and round trip and return via the Braich side. Hence stopped at the Twll Mwg level at the base of the massive A8 incline.

While the Garret side doesn’t have all the big draw card bits like the Australia level mill, the caban and all the other rusting relics, it still has plenty of things to keep you busy and some great views over Braich and the lake below

Warning! PICTURE HEAVY. I’ve also tried to best identify which level/incline the pictures were taken on.

3. The Pictures

Lovely stuff! I have done half of this side but I really want to go 'over the top' from one side to other. Maybe later in the year!

Just stunning. I could spend a weekend here quite happily just wandering...
Looks like you had a gorgeous day for it too. Making me miss North Wales *sigh*

Cheers mate. Yeah, wished I'd had the time to do that too.

Cheers mate. Yeah, a weekend could easily be spent here. A night in the caban would be cool!

It's just simply magical that place...
Nowhere quite like it!

Really nice that mate. So much to see at this quarry. You really could spend several days here I bet.
It's the daddy of quarries mate.

Really getting into the spirit of the place with those images and, as always, we locals appreciate a respectful visit. :thumb

Great post! I love it there, have been all over it in the last 30years and many more sites in the area. Most of the pictures you have are identical to ones I have taken in that time!

You've got some great pictures of the quarry. I went there 2 weeks ago with a friend and ended getting to the top of the quarry. There is some incredible history behind this place :thumb
