Dreamland Cinema was he last site of mine and Speed's mad dash around Margate. We'd been to recce the cinema a couple of months before but it was too light out we couldn't see a way in. Luckily the local guys were on hand and we gave it another try and luckily we got in. It's a stunning cinema and bingo hall, absolutely untouched! Mint :thumb

Here's a BBC news article on its closure:

The final credits are due to roll at a an art deco cinema which set a design trend when it opened in 1935.

Dreamland cinema, in Margate, Kent, was built on the site of a variety theatre and originally seated more than 2,000.

"It was a fantastic design - the first of its kind," said local historian Nick Evans. "The fin at the front set the building apart from other cinemas."

Manager Roy Jackson said the Dreamland could not compete with a new multiplex opening at nearby Westwood Cross.

Bars and ballroom

"The company feel they can't stand the onslaught of the brand new multiplex opening on 15 November," he said.

"Dreamland will lose a lot of its audience to the new cinema and we won't survive."

As well as the auditorium, the Grade II listed building had a large cafe with a view out to sea, bars and ballroom.

It was converted in the early 1970s to accommodate a bingo hall on the ground floor, now closed, and two smaller cinemas in the old circle.

Its opening night programme featured Greta Garbo in The Painted Veil.
