this was a visit to Dunure castle with my 3 kids, (18,16 and 5), so they do feature prominently in the pics and for that I apologise in advance.
Dunure castle was built in 1256 and in use till about 1700
it was famous for the roasting of the commendator of crossraguel
there are rumoured to be tunnels from there to a cavern underneath
when I was there the tide was in so I don't know
it was home to the kennedy clan
view towards the castle
soon as you go in you can start climbing
the wee man following the older 2 up the wall
does she look like a sand dancer to you too
getting higher
and higher
and higher again. right up the old chimney
going through the old doorway
View attachment 429081
and out the other side
do not feed the animals
a bit of renovation stuff in a crypt
its bigger inside than it looks
my 18yo has no fear , hell of a drop past there
some more walls
this bit was scary
there is at least 2 levels beloww this waiting to be excavated
"right son, that's high enough" lol
back down an outside wall
