Hello All.

Visited with a non member who has done quite a lot with me recently. Quite an uneventful explore until we was exiting and security turned up . . . .

I can't find much history on the mill. I know Littlewoods have used this site in the past, along with Findel Education. Looking at paper work in the Mill, they moved out around 2009 and the mill's been empty since. The engine house kept a 1800 hp triple-expansion four-cylinder engine by Yates and Thom, 1906. 24"HP, 29"IP, two 38"LP X 5 ft 6 in stroke. 180 psi, 65 rpm. 27 ft, 67 ton flywheel, 38 ropes. Corliss valves on all cylinders. Guide under block between cylinders. Air pump driven from each crosshead. In January 1929 it was taken over by Lancashire Cotton Corporation Limited who ran a total of 104 mills when it was Incorporated

The stunning artwork had been covered over by a false ceiling. Quite hard to capture as it had been pulled down in places . . . . .

Surprised nobody else has bothered with it actually, I guess the security guard will be busy now over the next few weeks

Good to see you back on it and something different as well, good stuff Marsden :thumb
