Eastend is a 37 room mansion house thats part of the Carmichael estate. Its claimed to be part of a much earlier fortified tower originating in 16th. In 1673 they added the tall east & west crowstepped wings & a bow fronted addition was added to the south in the 18th century which obscures the original keep. In 1851 large Scottish baronial extensions were added to the west.
During WW2 Eastend was used to house members of the Polish Army where they enjoy the lush gardens, majestic ancient redwoods and views to the Tinto hils
Eastend House is currently uninhabitable due to dry rot in the support structures and as such is in quite neglected state. There is quite a lot of water ingress and has already suffered some minor collapses. I give it 12 months before this property suffers from a major collapses and is then lost forever...
