A friend and I were planning on visiting an old favourite of fellow urban explorers, Eastmoor. Upon researching I found a couple of recent posts making unclear statments as to whether the school has been boarded with metal sheeting and is currently being demolished. There's lots of sweeping statements regarding these issues but no real proof, does anyone here know about this, because it would be a shame to get there just find it was inaccessable .

Just make a couple of backup plans and go have a look. It would be far more satisfying to get in when everyone else thinks it's not possible.

OK, it has always to my knowledge (the last 3 years) had metal sheeting up, but these aren't always secured very well due to the ammount of chavs etc accessing the site to trash it, when I last went the builders were working on it, the houses dotted around the site had been flattened and there was builders fencing on the eastern corner of the building extending round to the north and south if that makes sense, there were builders huts within the fencing and what appears to be a 24 hour security guard/s

As far as I know they are not knocking the actualy main building down so the demo rumours I don't think are true

To my knowledge if your stealthy it is currently doable but no idea what state the insides will be in now (they were fucked a few years ago)

Luckily in the area there are a few derps within a few miles of each other so as Dr Howser says make back up plans just incase this one isn't successful

Was talking to someone the other day about this place, they went about a month ago, what they told me was, the main building is still standing with metal shuttering on all windows, the church is still standing and has the same shuttering on. The other out buildings have been demoed, also there is a building site right next door to it which has wagons coming and going all the time though out the day. They returned later on and took A proper look at the main building were the security guard from next door building site asked what they were doing on a site and politely to leave without being arsey about.

Okay, thanks for the quick response guys!
I think I will have a look sometime soon, and maybe check out st. Michaels collage whilst I'm at it! I'll let you all know what's going on and probably post a couple of reports too :)

Eastmoor is currently being demolished.
I visited last Saturday and had a close encounter with the demolision team, apparently eastmoor is to be replaced with new facilities for the current children's home close by.

I went over [RECENTLY] and it is all but gone now, only one bit of the building left and the church. All with metal sheeting bolted up in every door and window. Ended up going for a little wander down Meanwood Beck but the weather made it near impossible to go very far with massively heavy rain and hailstones. I will definitely be going back another time.
