This place has been abandoned for a good 20+ years. It's a stunning Victorian Lodge building that is currently awaiting a planning permission response to turn it into individual houses. I am not aware of any security on site and entrance to it looks relatively ok.

I'm 6k miles away from my hometown at the moment, or I would be tempted. Not many locals know this place exists so I thought it might be of interest.

I'm in the Tamworth area so Swadlincote is not too far from me. I might do some research and pop up to see at the weekend.

Thanks for posting

Me and the missus had a look round this place today, definitely would have been an absolutely stunning building in its hay day but it's had the shit kicked out of it for 20 years by the locals, a lot of metal theft, fire and water damage, a few floors have fallen threw, the cellar isn't in bad knick with beautiful archways made from white veneered brick work, there's a far bit of climbing to get around, not for the faint hearted, I enjoyed my self in there so thanks for posting up fella!

Nope, nothing, I'd watch how you go though as it's over looked by a fair few houses, witch I imagen are full of curtain twitching old duffers...

I live in Tamworth and I'm hoping to check this out soon, so if anyone wants to meet up we can do? I'm needing to get out a lot more to explore!

Hey I just wanted to say I've been numerous times. No Security at all however if you are not careful then the neighbouring houses do call the local police. other than that it's ok. Somewhat easy to get into the roof. Some parts of the second floor have fallen through but nothing to major just look where you are going. Cellar is pretty good condition. Mostly kids in there if anything so yes.
