Carried out my first ever crane climb last night.

FYI, i'm not one of those idiots that hang, I simply do it for the feeling of self achievement and the pictures!

Just wanted some feedback on the video I made:

Excuse the selfie stick, its just the best way to get a good angle as im not an owner of a good camera, nor could I really prop up my phone!
It's amazing to see a familiar place from up high, gives it a completely different atmosphere, not to mention the view!

Firstly well done on getting out there. With respect to the video, for the most part you can't really see anything - it's too dark. You can't tell where you are when you're on top either, which some may argue is the point of doing high stuff - getting a better/different view of places. Also, are you 12? But yeah, well done on getting out there.

Yeah the vids a bit dark but I guess you’re using your phone. More specialist equipment would give better quality images and footage so if you’re doing this for the pictures you might want to start researching and saving for a better camera.

However, in my opinion, lack of expensive gear shouldn’t stop anyone climbing or exploring…

I liked the vid and nice to see a climb from start to finish, but two things:
  • the jerkiness of quickly looking all around during the climb made me feel a bit dizzy! It’s unavoidable if it’s on your head but a bit more stable footage would be nice.
  • more panoramic images at the top would also be good.

Have fun and stay safe! :thumb
