The Explore
So after a few explores around Crewe and Stoke we met up with some friends from the North East and headed for this dairy factory.. another one of those places that we were a few years too late but not a bad one to fill a few hours :)

The History
Fole dairy occupied the site of Fole Mill, originally built in 1771 for Henry Copestake. The Dairy opened in the 1920s and was originally owned by Co-operative Wholesale Society (C.W.S.) Milk Group, and produced milk and cream. In 1995 management passed to Associated Co-operative Creameries, and finally in 2006 to Dairy Farmers of Britain (D.F.B.). At the time the Dairy closed on 31 March 2009 it employed 246 people.

Nice pics, passed this place loads of times and remember it when it was open and always wondered what it looked like inside. Cheers.

I feel I need to weigh in with my 20 cents! I delivered milk bottles to that site in an Artic in 2000! Sad to discover in 2019 that it has been yet another victim of "trade winds".

Felt like I’d put my 10p in too, not sure if it’s been documented on this site yet but it’s now been demolished. It’s crazy because when I started exploring last year this was the second place I ever went (the first being Denbigh asylum on a whim which started it all for me). Fond memories of this place first tried finding it one night after meeting 3 people who are now close friends after failing finding stallington hall hospital. Also failed to find this place as one of my friends could not recall where it was as her boyfriend drove her there. Me and friends spent the whole weekend exploring places including here, calwich abbey etc and went here about 5 times in the space of 2/3 months. A month later in August it had been demolished having only been there for the first time in a June. Was one of those starter places, good quick explore.

I know :banghead it was midnight we drove around like headless chickens with my friend trying to remember. Drove down this country lane only to realise it was private land and a dead end and had to reverse a mile up pitch black haha. Found it the next day and we were like so close to it the night before, think my friend took the sign in book from there last sign in was September 2009. It had like a big piece of machinery in this weird tall room with loads of sketchy steps that moved.

Talking about OS maps Josh I once emailed OS about a bridge which was demolished which was still marked on the map, they said "we acknowledge your report but we dont know when it will be amended" 7 years later they removed the bridge from the map :D this time I will just leave it (wont report it) as it will be nice to leave the word DAIRY there just to commemorate what was there since the 1700s.
265 jobs gone, thats hellish  but on a positive note i see that nearby JCB are building a new giant factory to add to the 2 already there, they havent sold out like Massey Ferguson Coventry did by moving production to Eastern Europe years ago
