Opened 1961, closed before 1968, There was concern about cliff erosion, however its still there all these years later. Firmly sealed with the GZI and BPI missing. The FSM pipe is slighty taller than usual. Its a pity that there's not an interpretation board explaining what it was in this public area.
Martello tower and former Battery Command Post for WW2 gun emplacement in the background The latter is now used as a Coastwatch station. You can still see the gun emplacements lower down the cliff.
Good view over the sea. Posts in locations such as this would have also monitored nuclear strikes the other side of the Channel.
