Post stands in sand dunes off a very bumpy un-made track. The shaft has been capped but a large hole has been smashed in the access shaft giving you a view of the interior.
The post is filled with rubble and is in a dangerous condition.
Abandoned in 1966 due to erosion, a new post was opened at Woodvale which survived until September 1991 but was then demolished. A Royal Navy spotting post stood nearby but has now been demolished.
