Thanks to Simon for the info and recce.

Well, a nice new find here, not everyday you find a Palmerston Fort.

Quite a large place over 3 levels (surface, guns, moat) with a massive set of steps linking them all.

Well, 200 candles later...

The stairs...

There was three flights of stairs, but you could only see two at a time because of the angle.

The 'gunnery' corridor had four or five gun rooms separated by rooms that could have been magazines...

400 of them if I recall correctly. Cost next to nothing from Ikea !

Mrs and I got in a couple of weeks ago. The candles are still there! Definitely one to do in daylight though as either way to walk in (we walked up to access one way and away the other) has a *lot* of 30ft plus drop to dry ditch very close by.
