Old enough to know better

I'd stayed at Verdun overnight then drove to find Fort Leopold. Took me some time and got lost once. Eventually found track into forest and ignored 3 'no access' signs. Had to get as close as I could because my legs are not what they were. Parked at the razor wire and road barrier. 'Terrain Militaire' signs always a great help to know you're getting close! About 300 mtrs uphill and fort Leopold appeared in front of me. I loved the wall art. A particular favourite is the picture of the ship and lighthouse. Researched it as soon as I got home. Noord Loyd was a shipping company mainly based in Bremen. The Kronprinz Willhelm was one of the fastest ships on the cross Atlantic route at the time and the Red Sand lighthouse is still there ! I love the internet for being able to find stuff like this out! Next time I take 3 sets of spare batteries. It's not the place to go blundering around in the dark, especially on you own! Hope you enjoy the photo's, not the best quality.
