Frogger (CSO), Tameside

This screened CSO is a recent addition to the 2m interceptor sewer which serves Western Dukinfield

During capacity the machinery which is housed in a large underground chamber filters out any solids and any discharge heads out over two slotted weirs either side of the 2m interceptor, exiting via a 7ft overflow into the nearby river

Usually it's refreshing to go in drains, the green tranquil waters of the sewer, the fresh breeze, just the tonic for an afternoon stroll to escape the the soaring temperatures.. Right ?

However not here, the place was a stinker, the tranquil waters replaced with a nasty brown ocean of :turd

Not a murmur from the 4 gas so off we went

Surprisingly there were a fair few frogs bathing inside here and the amount of logs that had surfaced down the trunk reminded me of that 80's Konami classic 'Frogger'

Above ground the usual lid array was closely guarded by a gaggle of angry looking Canadian Geese (not to be fucked with) we tried to bribe them with a tuna pasta pot

Despite being Dolphin friendly they weren't having any of it

Ninjaboy decided to 'distract' them, which made matters worse, there was more shit flying at this point than down below in the trunk!
