Deep under the "Bürgerpark" of the city of Osnabrück, Lower Saxony exist an very old, big human made cave system. Nobody know who created it and when it was made. It was used as a quarry, a beer brewery storage, a mushrom farm, was converted as a bomb shelter in WW2 and was long time forgotten and locked up for the public after the war. The association Getrudenberger Höhlen e.V. was founded to protect and discover the cave system for the future and open it to the public. By the way, I`m a member of the association too.
More information at Gertrudenberg - Gertrudenberger Höhlen Osnabrück e. V. or Getrudenberger Höhlen Osnabrück e.V. .

Good stuff!

Could you add the month and year of your visit to the thread title? If it's over multiple visits, just add a timeframe, I.E: "2015 - 2023" Cheers :thumb

Looks like it was originally a mine to me.
The brick supports are very typical
The brick walls were added as blast walls, a hospital room, toilet blocks and more bunker structure in the second world war. Babies were born in this little underground hospital while bombs dropped down over Osnabrück. Other walls were added to split the caves into different sections for different brewery companies to store the beer there. At some places you can find historic glass bottles and sometimes some coins too. And a lot of other stuff...
