The glassworks was founded in the 1920s. Household goods such as glasses, cups, jugs and stemware were produced here. In the 1950s and 1960s, it was expanded and significantly modernized, which allowed to start the production of colored glass. The 1970s saw further development of the steelworks and at the same time the peak of employment - about 3,500 employees.
Over the years, the items produced here were present in many Polish homes, but also exported to Iran, the USA and many European countries.
In the 21st century, the plant went through financial problems several times, which led to several owner changes and production interruptions. 2019 is the final closure of the steelworks.
