We got married this year and spent our honeymoon travelling Croatia with a bit of Urbex thrown in, for the romantic part.
Goli Otok is only accessible by boat. We hired a boat taxi which took us out to the island itself where we spent the day exploring. There's so much more to it than just these photos. It's a full prison complex. Approx 2km by 2km. Facilities included a cinema, quarries, ammunition dump, lookout posts, marble works, tile works, a school, medical facility to name a few.
It was a high security prison between 1949-1989 in the former Yugoslavia used mainly for political prisoners. As you can see from the photos it has been left to ruin. It's an amazing place for an explore.

Nice to see so thanks for posting :thumb

I love Croatia, the centres of the main cities and towns have been nicely restored, but you don't have to go far to see the evidence and remains of the war.
