Report - Graves park beck , Sheffield , May 2023

Following on from my previous report there was another culverted section of the graves park beck that i thought might be worthy of attention . Parking up on Holmhirst road i climbed down the bank at the back of the big tree pub on chesterfield road to have a nosy . Had seen this on maps a time ago and dismissed it and after previously dismissing the lower section ( A Hard Road ) and being proved wrong i thought best not to be to flippant . After the 1500mm RCP pipe last time i had taken the trolley cart and knee pads as it was hardly going to be megatron ! 😆 arriving early doors as the area soon wakes up and is busy

nice stone arch and could almost stand up ( not quite ) but the floor was cobbled in stone so the trolley cart would be no use on this explore

stone everything then a change to brickwork

then looking back to the start

getting a lot more rocky underfoot now

bit of a deep bit here then a change in styles to a more old box section stone sides but concrete roof

this was getting stoopy now !

crawling now

next section 1200 rcp passed a couple of new man holes and was nice to stand up straight for a bit

out of the rcp and in to an older brick construction was getting really tight now at this point i left the tripod so its hand held pics only after this point ( sorry about the quality )

even tighter laying down almost to get through here ! there was a few steps up here

back to brick christ almighty this was only supposed to be a short section of drain ! FFS

hooray at last the bloody end time to get back out the way i came in to pick up the tripod and drains cart

no way in or out here ! well considering it was only supposed to be a short one ( according to maps ) i was underground for over 40minutes and managed to see of a set of head torch batteries well thats the graves park beck totally done no further culverts upstream hope you enjoyed it more than my back did 👨‍🦽cheers for viewing
