The post was open. The concrete step to the shaft was insecure and some of the other concrete was crumbling. The louvres were missing, but we later found them in the nearby aircraft observation building. Internally the post was flooded, but contained a bedframe , the post battery, a saucepan and two dustpan brushes on the back of the door.
