Currently the tallest hospital in the world, at 34 floors, or 469ft.

I, as have many, have had my eye on this ever since the £25million pound re-cladding works had commenced. I've walked in and tried the roof door from the inside multiple times, but never managed to get past the 'alarmed' cage that covers the stairwell at the very top. Now I understand more about the building and how it works, it seems extremely unlikely that the door will ever be open.

So we had to look at the outside. On the scaffolding to be precise.. And access was mad, totally insane. Twenty storey free climbs, over hangs and not a single rope in sight. Once we had actually got the top, it soon became apparent, on both visits, that due to the massive amount of security and PIR's placed throughout the building, the only way down would be to BASE jump. Only without a parachute...

Boy, do my ankles ache.

Visited with Chris London, then again with Dicky and non-members Patch, Site and Yaz....

More info on the re-clad here.
