Report - Habergham High School/sixth form, Burnley - April 2015

History:
Not much on this place to be honest, just a typical high school. Opened in the 1950's im lead to believe and closed in 2010 due to burnley council mixing schools and putting two schools into one and having one name. The building has been derelict ever since. Plans was to demolish the building but im unsure why they havent gone ahead with it. If anyone has or can find more appropriate info then it would be greatly appreciated.

The visit:
visited with BRETT.L.21 one evening and after asking the local teens how to get in, they pointed us in the right direction .The access was a nightmare and we did get spotted by some dog walkers but that didn't stop us, once inside we had a quick look around but night was falling so the pics wasn't really any good. all the classrooms had been smashed to bits and not worth taking pics of.

A few days later i went back on MY OWN to take better pictures in the daylight, i was sh*tting myself being in such a massive building on my own not knowing who could be inside but the buzz and confidence soon kicked in! i also used a different access point which resulted in injury on the way out.

Ok - going to be a bit strange this but I am an ex teacher from the site next door. I would be really interested in getting (legal of course) access to the old Ivy Bank Site. Do you have any ideas as to how i might be able to gain access? This was the first school I ever taught in and it has some very special memories for me.

Oh hey just so you know - this site has been earmarked for the new free school up the road (Burnley High School) they can't demolish and rebuild as the site inspection has shown a huge bell mine under the area that is unsupported. Could fall in at any minute!

i know about the ivy bank school and its info but there's T&C's about giving new members access details, no offence but you could be anyone and i don't wanna jeopardize anything. Get some reports up of places you've been and gain trust by other members before you can ask such questions.

hiya, not sure if anyone covered that site due to high security! even the police was watching it at one stage after an arson attack.
