I reckon it's still doable if you can bridge the gap. I wasn't risking that floor though! I'll see if I've got any other pics when I'm back home...

Its a pretty big gap, you can only get as high as the first set of stone stairs go, will see if any of the other guys have pictures of that area.

Do not put any weight on anything other than the stone step FFS.

The wooden steps that are sat on what left of the floor aren't tied into the wall.
