Visited yesterday with TrufflePig on the last day of my IoW weekender.

HighDown Rocket Testing Site was built on the site of the Needles Old Battery on the east coast of the Isle of Wight, It was built for rocket research as they wanted to make flameless (and thus more covert) rockets. Alot of the site was knocked down when they restored the main parts of the Old Battery but the large bit that they left is very James Bond esq.. You expect to see some evil genius and alot of minions appearing.. ;)

To get to it, you have to walk up the windiest hill ever which makes you nearly freeze to death, then get to the site and hope you aren't blown off!!:rolleyes::rolleyes:

Didn't take many photos.. It was to windy for many exterior shots because it would blow you tripod around!!.
