Highfields Thames Water Pumping Station

Few months ago I found this building on a search and as it always is, always meant to go and take a closer look. Nothing really pointed towards it being closed/derelict but there's always something there that gives you the idea i the first place.
Managed to finally get over there with MR and find a way in. So many fantastic features in the small amount of it that we saw that it warrants a report on just the original signage, Kent gauges and GEC switch boxes in that nice shade of green. Couple more room in the place but couldn't get there unfortunately! The upstairs looked interesting in the raised section. It's all split up so made access and navigation a little hard.

History

Built in 1885 as part of the New River alongside other similar buildings as a series to help pump the water through the area, this pumping station was closed in 1962 and later became a station for Thameswater of which it still holds home to a small office now.
Described as being a red brick Victorian symmetrical building with a 2 storey engine house round the back.

Can't argue with that. I don't think it really matters if they are closed. Still good explores when they are live.
