Built about 1845 was built on the sand of a shelter for forest workers and transit staff to the later a dispensing operation was come. The cottage was built in 1874 converted into a guest house. Due to the increasing number of guests, the building was enlarged and converted into a spa.The inauguration took place in 1891 in the presence of Grand Duke Friedrich of Baden. Around 1920, a gas station next to the spa house was furnished. In 1930, on the sand a post office on the operation in 1936 followed by the establishment of a police station. All three institutions are now no longer in operation. 150 meters behind the Kurhaus was built in 1949 in the forest Bergwaldhütte as a convalescent home for children and later for police officers. In 1965 the chapel was built "To the Good Shepherd". As before, managed and open to all guests is the only Bergwaldhütte.
