Report - HSL & Tunnel - Harpur Hill 11/08/07

Visited at the end of an epic day with Havoc, R1, Saul_Son and Gibbo.


A live explosive testing site covering an extensive 500 acres with various outbuildings, war bunkers, expanses of grassy testing grounds and the pinnacle a shiny glass and metal complex the Health and Safety Laboratories themselves (very active security presence)

Official information on HSL

"We also have extensive trials areas on the Buxton site where we are able to undertake large-scale experiments, particularly in the areas of fires and explosion safety. The facilities include the biggest impact track in Europe; one of the largest open air test ranges; two large tunnels for studies of explosions and fires; a purpose-built jet fire facility; drop weight facilities; a temporary structures rig; and wire rope fatigue testing equipment."

Bah, wasnt going to bother putting any pics up tonight but after youve mentioned it i will.
This place was especially cool as i used work for a testing house giving stuff the british standard, so if you have something thats shit and doesnt work properly you can probably blame me.
