Built back in 1862 The hydraulic pumping station was built to pump water in and out of the East and West Float docks in Birkenhead. The building has been derelict for many years. It is currently earmarked for redevelopment as part of the Wirral waters scheme. So hopefully this building will be restored and put to use as something else in the near future.
Sadly the part of the building which includes the Clock tower was completely inaccessible. Instead we made the most of the rest of the building.

Visited with Trancentral and Rocks. On with the pictures.

One of the huge accumulators used to pump the water. There are two of them here.
