It seems this is becoming the High Royds of the North :D
Loads of visitors lately! Hopefully it won't get spoiled for others through careless exploring though :(

Visited with Bryag on our wee trek, cheers for chauffeuring duties :thumb

This is an excellent site, mint as you like, big thanks to Alir147 for the heads up!

I'll not bother with the history, it's been done better by others, suffice to say it's a Victorian Distillery, mothballed since 1998 I believe.

Some of my pics, I'll try and avoid too many duplicates of other posts...

We would have signed the board too, but the marker had dried up...

Seems to have moistened back up :p

The sunlight streaming in helped, such a photogenic place, didn't really do it justice, Bryag''ll put that right :thumb
An absolutely sweet explore this one, loved every minute of it!

Very Nice pics, Zimbob. You seem to be getting to grips with your Fuji Nicely!:thumb
This was our second visit, the first being aborted due to snow (only a couple of weeks ago) as we decided that our snowy footprints would alert security to the access point, and ruin it for others. Access to the actual site was inhibited by a local budding "Percy Thrower", but a bit of legwork soon allowed unobstructed access to the site:cool:

Here are a few of mine from our day-trip out east!

A couple of externals
Imperial001.jpg

Goods in or out, not quite sure?
Imperial002.jpg

First light inside (I loved the colours and shadows here)
Imperial003.jpg

Bottom of the mash room (I think?)

Below the stills

Wheels and dials
Imperial007.jpg

Buttons! the temptation was great
Imperial008.jpg

The low sun made for some good shots, but also made some shots difficult
Imperial009.jpg

The "olde worlde" stuff in here was great, all the wood and cast iron!
Imperial010.jpg

The stills

Needing a bloody good polish. Unfortunately , I left my tin of industrial strength Brasso in the car. DOH!
Imperial015.jpg

Top floor of the mash barrels, nearly lost my shades in one of them!
Imperial016.jpg

Imperial017.jpg

Please note the small pile of rubble in the canteen/toilets doorway. That fell on Zimbob upon our exit!
Imperial018.jpg

More wood stuff, it was great!
Imperial019.jpg

All I could think of here was the robots from the old "Smash" commercials!
Imperial020.jpg

Lots of switches. We refrained!
Imperial021.jpg

Complicated thingy
Imperial022.jpg

Pipes and dials
Imperial023.jpg

"They eat them with their metal forks, ha ha ha ha......"
Imperial024.jpg

I think the fumes were getting to me
Imperial025.jpg

I called it Dennis (hopper? I know, I know, bad joke)
Imperial026.jpg

They call it paraflow, I don't know it's purpose, but the massive ratchet handle was soooo tempting!

I told Zimbob to dress for stealth! He was clearly on the understanding we were exploring in custard!
