Ingarsby Tunnel was on the GN/LNW joint line from Leicester Belgrave Road to Marfield Triangle. It is 516 yards, it was first opened in 1882 and closed in 1964. In 1959 20000 people travelled to Skegness on this line in 72 trains. One end of the Tunnel has been backed filled, the other end has been covered by metal sheeting, someone has gas axed a hole in it, looks like people have been having lots of fires in the tunnel. Visited by myself and explorer dog Binky...:thumb
