Not much i can tell you in the way of history on this one, other than it was built in 1900 and due to its proximity to the dunham estate is probably to do with the earl of stamford and is almost certainly owned by a certain historical preservation company with the initials NT.
Some time in its history it was taken over by the consulate of the islamic republic of iran and some time in the 80s was the subject of a major police investigation according to several members of my family.
It has been in a state of disrepair for several years now and unoccupied for a couple of months and due to its close proximity to me was a temptation too great to resist.
Visited solo and again with the new mendoza.

A later addition i assume, an islamic looking sundial
First piece of evidence suggesting its former use and a grand(ish) fireplace
Although not a patch on this fantastic example, a full 8-9 feet high
In fact the charming woodcarving continues throughout
There was some quite dubious looking literature around, like this:

and all manner of visa applications and official stamped stuff
