So I had made two visits here before, once in 2018 but that was cut short because of a nice security man catching me. The second time I went back earlier in the spring with man gone wrong as he had not been and I wanted to see the kilns. Both times the main workshop has always been tight, but on hearing it was open we decided to go back. A nice early start and we were in. This is were all the wood was milled ready to get processed to the companies other factories.
The building sadly is stripped of all machinery. But the building is on an enormous scale with a beautiful blue roof. At the back is some stores and offices, there is also some nice bits to photograph about. For further history and the other parts of the factory the link is here.
A mixture of 10mm and 35mm shots

The front of the main workshop with stores nearest and the offices further back.

I always enjoy seeing apple stickers stuck everywhere. We are guilty at work ourselves of it. A few was stuck on here.

Looking to the vac shop what was responsible for extraction of dust. And I can imagine there would be a lot with the size of the piping outside.

A small office block within the factory floor. Prob for the foreman's and a place to have a break.

I really liked the fire system they had here with a few nice bits to it.

Some more apple stickers. Lots more on this control panel.

Heading into the stores.

For a wood work shop the joinery here is shocking. Unless that sloping wood is on purpose.

Hand made store room.

Heading to the offices. They are quite plain and basic.

Never seen a wooden spiral staircase before.

The toilets on the ground floor in pitch blackness due to the windows being boarded

Under the stores is more stores..what an awful place to go in if you worked here. I am short and could not stand in them. And ducking under the arches. It was hot and pitch black and full of random stuff.

Outside was this and was not sure totally. A very clever friend (one who is doing up West Raynham tower) told me they are for pressure treating the wood and the tank would pump preservtive into the the sealed modules. It all made sense when he said. They were rather nice though.

And some of the storage sheds I forgot to shoot last time. Several are demolished now to make way for the new bridge.

Amazing to see what was within. Thoes pressure cookers, I forgot what exactly they were, are rather interesting.

Thoes basement stores look like a good place to rummage around and rather interesting with the concrete supports.

Fantastic report. So much to like here. I really do like the old handmade stores, and the spiral stairs, something rustic about wood that I like. The fire system and valve box are great. There is just so much to like and well done of great lighting in the toilet areas. More to add ;)

Thank you Jane. Yeah the valve box is lovely I thought. The toilet collection just keeps on growing ha ha. It was pitch black in there though.
